With research expenditure of 686 million euros, Infineon Austria is the strongest research company in Austria.

With the high-tech chip factory for power semiconductors on 300-millimeter thin wafers, and the state-of-the-art, intelligently automated production facility for the new semiconductor materials SiC and GaN, Villach is considered the global innovation factory of the front-end production network.
